‘Smile of the Mask’ wins award at Brazil filmfest

Iranian short flick ‘Smile of the Mask’ has grabbed award at the Brazil International Monthly Film Festival.

Abbas Ghazali’s latest film won the Best Experimental Film Award at the 2021 dition of the festival.

‘Smile of the Mask’ is about acid attacks. It was filmed last year in Turkey.

“This was not my dream,” a tagline for the film reads.

Ghazali is a popular young actor. He has also appeared in a number of series, including ‘The Redemption’ and ‘Like a Mother’.

The BIMIFF (Brazil International Monthly Film Festival) is an online competitive film festival created to give opportunity for filmmakers from all around the world to showcase their projects to great online audiences, while interacting with other great artists and independent filmmakers.
